Recently, the BOOST4BIOEAST consortium and the BIOEAST Initiative organized the Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference on “The role of national HUBs in national and macro-regional bioeconomy policy and R&I developments in the BIOEAST countries”. The event was hosted by the Research Centre for Natural Sciences in Budapest, Hungary.

The event was attended by one of IBPRS-PIB researchers, Łukasz Woźniak, Ph.D., who is also a member of the BIOEAST Thematic Working Group (TWG) – Advanced Bio-based Chemicals and Materials.

Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference was organized in a form of series of events, involving the BIOEAST Board, Thematic Working Groups Coordination and BOOST4BIOEAST project participants.

Besides plenary presentations, the conference engaged its participants by means of various interactive workshops dedicated to the creation of national HUBs and parallel meetings of the 7 BIOEAST TWGs focusing on more operative concerns of the groups.

The conference brought together stakeholders from the BIOEAST macro-region across all bioeconomy related fields,  from research, public administration, primary sector, and industry. The participants were also informed about the latest updates from the BIOEAST Initiative in the context of ongoing European and upcoming EU presidency priorities to provide practical knowledge in order to kick-start and facilitate collaboration, operate science-policy interface and present opportunities in joint programming initiatives.
