An international conference entitled “Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins” was held in Easton (MA, USA) from June 18-23, 2023. “The Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins” organized periodically by the Gordon Research Conference. This is the leading periodic international scientific conference focusing on research advances in the field of toxins produced by fungi and plants. The conference program included speakers from a wide variety of scientific institutions and organizations around the world, focusing on the latest advances in myco- and phytotoxin research. The conference was an opportunity for scientists to get to know each other and exchange experiences in the context of the search for possible solutions to minimize/eliminate the threats to agriculture and the ecosystem caused by biotoxins. During the conference there was also an opportunity to present the research carried out at our Institute, which was represented by Dr. Marcin Bryla, Professor of IBPRS-PIB.

The topic of Dr. Marcin Bryla’s speech was: Inhibition of Fusarium proliferatum pathogen growth by Trichoderma fungi and the effect of antagonist on metabolomic profile during in vitro bi-culture on rice grains”.
The research was funded by the National Science Center (OPUS 17 2019/33/B/NZ9/02743).

From June 24 to 28, 2023, at the invitation of Dr. Eckardt Johanning, a member of the Society for Mycotoxin Research, Dr. Marcin Bryla, Prof. IBPRS-PIB carried out a study trip to Albany (New York, USA) dedicated to the analysis of the risks posed by mycotoxins in bioareosols. At the clinic conducted by Dr. Johanning, there was an opportunity to familiarize oneself with the effects of human exposure to bioareosols containing mycotoxins, as well as methods of counteracting exposure.
