On 29th -31st May, the economic mission to Egypt was organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Polish Chamber of Commerce. The mission accompanied the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to Egypt and was combined with the Poland-Egypt New Tech Forum in Cairo. One of the participants of the economic mission and a speaker at the Forum was Prof. Krystian Marszałek from the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Product Technology.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the authorities from both countries, establishing the rules and declaring the main areas of economic and scientific cooperation between Poland and Egypt.
On the occasion of the visit, the B2B meetings were organized with the representatives of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, Federation of Egyptian Industries as well as the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Environmental Monitoring Center Administration.
During the bilateral talks, the Polish visitors had the opportunity to establish beneficial business contacts and learn more about the Egyptian market and the economic and institutional landscape of the country.
The participation in the Forum offered a chance to develop investment and export opportunities as well as to establish professional contacts in the area of R&D between Polish and Egyptian stakeholders. The result of these talks is a declaration of cooperation between the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology and the Egyptian Food Technology Research Institute, which is a part of the Agricultural Research Centre of Egypt.
