On 22-23rd March, the European Agricultural Forum 2023 was organized in Rzeszów. During the 2-day event, a number of discussion panels were held, during which the future trends and challenges for the European agriculture were broadly discussed. The main themes of the Forum debates were related to the direction of changes that will affect the Polish countryside and agriculture in the upcoming years. The invited panelists addressed the questions regarding food security in the European Union, the impact of the Russian invasion on Ukraine or European food market protection instruments.

The leading debate: “The future of the European agriculture. Does the current form of the CAP and the National Strategic Plan meet the expectations of farmers and residents of rural areas?” was attended by the representatives of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the Ministries of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, the Republic of Lithuania and the Slovak Republic. Among the guests of the Forum was also Mr. Janusz Wojciechowski – the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Mr. Wolfgang Burtscher – Director General of DG AGRI in the European Commission.

The Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology was represented during the European Agricultural Forum at its own exhibition stand. During the event, the stand was visited by several hundred Forum participants.
