Last year, Justyna Szczepańska, Ph.D. Eng. became a laureate of the prestigious START 2022 competition which is released annually by the Foundation for Polish Science for the most talented Polish scientists under 30. Each year, out of 100 laureates, the FNP awards one additional scholarship for an internship at a selected foreign research unit. We are proud that this year the scholarship went to Justyna Szczepańska, who is a young researcher at the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Product Technology of IBPRS-PIB. The internship was held at the University of Udine in Italy.
During her stay, Justyna Szczepańska presented the activities of IBPRS-PIB and the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Product Technology as well as the results of her own research. She was acquainted with the scientific activity of the university, including the implemented R&D projects. As part of the internship, Justyna Szczepańska had the opportunity to exchange experiences and expand her expertise related to non-thermal techniques which demonstrate application potential in food preservation.
